How does a Christian man meet a woman how shares his values and wants a lifetime commitment? I'm a Christian Conservative. I believe everything in the Bible is true. I also believe that only through Jesus's death and resurection is heaven possible. I believe God met sex only for marriage and except under certain circumstances (adultery, domestic violence, etc.), divorce should never be an option. Do you have an recommendation concerning where I can a woman with my values, books on Christian dating, Christian dating websites, etc. Any help would be appreciated.
true love, dating, and what to do? I have been reading lots of Christian dating books lately and I'm really confused. I have a better understanding of what God says that love is, but now I know that I can not live up to those expectations fully. So, how can I ever tell a girl that I love her with good concience when I can never be whatlove is. I feel like I cant have a relationship or date for that matter because I'm not old enough to get married and the relationship won't go anywhere except heartache. But I cant help the way I feel about this one girl. I'm lost!
Where can i find a detailed chronology of the probable dates the Christian and Jewish holy books were written? Love the Lord with all that you are; Love your neighbor as yourself; follow the commandments of the Lord; pray always; give all that you have to the poor; forget not- the last will be first, and the first, wil be last; the Lord was very pleased with solomon, because he chose the best possible gift that a man could receive from the Lord: wisdom
Christian dating help!? My girlfriend and i have been dating for about a year. We both want to glorify God with our relationship yet everybody knows how easy it is to fall in to sexual temptations. Lately we have found ourselves making mistakes like feeling on each other or me fingering her or something stupid like that. We both know that it is wrong but it so easy to fall into this kind of stuff. We really dont want to let this ruin our relationship because we both kno that if something does not change we will have to break up. Also keep in mind that i am seventeen and she is fifteen. Any help at all will be more than helpful. I would really like to know of a book that we could read together that could outline some of the basics of how to stay away frome sexual temptations. Thanks for all of the help and God bless all that help us on our journey to sexual purity. it would really help of somebody could give advice on a book to read that would helkp us, maybe there is not one but she keeps asking for me to find us a book to do together that would help us and thanks for the first two comments

Why does the separation mindset seem to be so prevalent within Christianity? Christian book stores, Christian dating services, Christian social networking sites, Godtube, etc.
How do I start dating again? How do I start dating again? I was married for 33 years. My husband died 11 months ago. I am afraid to try. I want to date a christian man, one who is liberal in politics, loves history, hates country music, loves cooking. Likes books, is open minded, honest. I do not want to date on line. Most of the people are not truthful. Also, I feel like you are paying for services. I feel like it is cheap. It makes a woman look cheap.
Christian book- Out with God? Okay so there is this book, I'm not sure what it is called or who it is by, but it is a christian one. I want to say it is something like out with God, or Going out with God, or Dating God, or something like that. Inside the book it gives 10-20 suggestions of how to build your relationship with God by doing things, such as going to an art museum, going to lunch, or an amusement park. It explained what you were to do there and then it gave you a journaling space. The book is larger than most, maybe spiral bound, or not. It is not extremely new, but maybe a year or two. I think that's all I really remember. Any help is greatly appreciated! I was hoping to find the name of the book, because I wanted to read it. And also the book is not like going on a blind date. It is a way to experience God in places you wouldn't normally put him first such as an amusement park or an art museum. This book is to help you always remember that God is always present.
Christian Literature? I am going to college 2 hours away in fall 08. My boyfriend and I have been dating for about 3 and a half years (I am 18 he is almost 20), we plan on staying together, and there is not a doubt in my mind that we will stay together and be fine. However, he is very doubtful, i guess it is easier for me, since im not the one getting "left behind". This whole deal has really made him question his faith in god, he wonder why god is doing this to him, and he doesnt think that he can get through it. I was wondering if anyone has read any good christian books that have to deal with stuggling with hard situations or just anything that you would recomend that would help him with this situation. thanks! ps. dont say bible, because he reads the bible pretty regularly
creationists views for fossil dating? how can a christian proo that the world is not a million years old by using fossils (or fossil dating) book refrences, sites andything would be great
Family Christian Book Store? I am sixteen and at a time where I need some peace, I know this woman that works at the Family Christian Book Store and was thinking about applying there. If you have ever worked there, can you tell me what to expect? I don't need a lot of money, just for gas around there area, and dates with my girlfriend about twice a month (her dad won't let her go out much, as with his other daughter). How much could I be expected in pay? How about hours? What do you think I would do? This doesn't have to be just a summer job, I could work after school as well. Thank You, and God Bless.
what is the REAL difference between Catholic church and Christian? I study european history which dates back from the Greek until now and i bump into a lot of religion confusion. a lot of times the books and many sources prefer to Catholic as Christian. While the Catholic believe in Virgin Mary and the Christians don't. Don't people always use the term Christians in general? i mean they would be talking about Catholic people but they use the word Christians instead. whats up wit that?
I have a German book appears to be about Christian martyrs from the 17th century. I would like to know worth. The date is 1606 and looks to be about martyrs and their lives and struggles. There is some scripture but it is not a bible. I would love to know if anyone has any idea about a book like this that is written solely in German.
one of my dumb born again christian friend has invited me to a "big girl " party...but he told me that they.. don't serve sprits ( whiskey or beer ) only fruit drinks and snacks. but he gave me the permission that I can bring my whiskey and have it in our vehicle... if we want. and the question - for sure the pastor will be invited to this party. I'm planing to get the pastor to a discussion before he start praying and brainwashing the small girl and create a situation " to the pastor" like he has pissed on his pants... first question - which is more harm full - Drinks or Brainwashing children with out dated books and inject ego and hate on other religions? second question - give me some simple questions to ask the born again pastor to make him sick - I'm fed up with Nova's ark question. ( big girl party = when the girls have their first that every month thing :) these iedots celebrate that. true.. tomorrow is the BIG party with pepsi and snacks.. have no clue about the dinner though..
Are there any recent good Christian movies like "A Walk to Remember"? I love this movie and Many Moore made me cry like a baby. I'm just not too up to date on stuff and was wondering if there was any positive movies about Christian life...or books that have this caring quality <hopefully to be a movie one day>.
How does a homeschooled Christian 16 yo girl "rebel"? ok, so I'm 16 years old, never been on a date (not allowed to until I'm 18), never drank, never smoked, never swore, and haven't got into ANY kind of trouble other than "i told you to empty the dishwasher earlier why didn't you do it?" since i was 12. i like going to church (that's where all my friends are) and I'm not being forced. i've never been in an argument with my parents. never had a reason to rebel. they love me, i love them, we talk and are open. there's this boy at church that i like, and he likes me, and we were writing letters back and forth until my mom found out and put a stop to it. my parents/siblings/grandparents like him and his grandma/aunt/younger brother (whom he lives with) likes me. our families are actually getting together next month and going to Sea World. we're friends who like each other and i'm fine with it, i don't want a boyfriend right now. but my friends (from softball, and in books and stuff, every teen girl rebels sometime. how do i?
Christians why is it a big deal if you date or marry into different Christian denomination? Look at this link please and help me understand it. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AvM4RptyVgqJHYc8atMotYrd7BR.?qid=20070424135508AADR8sL I am an Orthodox Jew but I have dated Reform and Conservative Jews before and there was never a problem. A Jewish woman is a Jewish woman no matter how religious she is. A Christian is still a Christian if he/she believes in Jesus. So, what is the big deal of Mormon dating a Baptist or a Catholic? You are all Christians in my book.
I believe I have some ancient Christian/Judaic artifacts? My great uncle Bill, dead for many years, fought in First World War in the Palestine campaign and brought many souvenirs back, including numerous antiquities, some of which were quite valuable. His son Jack died a last year, and as he had no children and his wife had predeceased him he bequeathed me some of his father’s war loot. Two of the most interesting and puzzling items are a beautifully made large inlaid box with some kind of written script as part of the inlay, and a very ancient looking hand written book or codex which is written in a similar script. The codex is delicate but in quite good condition. Jack told me that his father said it had been originally obtained in a tightly sealed pottery jar, but was unaware what had become of the jar. Bill had referred to these to artefacts as the Jewish things, which is significant as they were obtained before the state of Israel existed, when there were very few Jews in Palestine. I forwarded some photographs of both items, including close-ups of the first few pages of the Codex’s text to an expert on Middle East languages, who identified the script as Aramaic, an almost extinct Semitic script and gave me an approximate translation of the text. The explanation of approximate is that there are not exact translations to English of some ancient Aramaic words and some of the phonetic sounds are not the same or unknown as Aramaic has no vowels. It is not obvious who the Codex is written by or who it is about but it appears to be refer to a difficult journey with a group of people and their leader, their leader is ill or injured and there are references to ‘the brothers’. The box is identified as an ossuary, a box for the storage of the bones of the dead, as per the custom of the Jews of the first century. The inscription on it translates as Josua, son of Yusef. Due to this inscription I believe that possibly have some very important early Christian artefacts. It is even possible that the ossuary is that of Jesus, as Jesus is a Greek form of the Hebrew Josua and Yusef is the ancient form of Joseph. However both names were extremely common amongst 1st century Jews. What should I do with these artefacts? I am nominally Christian and would not want to be the source of religious conflict. It is possible that the items are forgeries but this is unlikely as most forgery of Christian/Judaic artifacts in recent times has been after 1948. If they are as ancient as I believe, and that should be easy to date scientifically they are extremely valuable, but I am unsure if my ownership of them is valid. If they are Christian artefacts I would like them to be studied not disappear into a private collection or the Vatican cellars. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to get ripped off either, but the deciding what to do is beyond my experience and skills
Christian parents , why you always lie to your children? why you always lie to your children using the man written out dated fairy tale books? why not learn about modern discoveries and evolution to help your children in education? spike , I gave you a thumbs up ..thanks for your kind words :)
What is the relationship between erotic desire and spirituality? I’m hoping for some thoughtful answers that go beyond the traditional conservative views that equate desire with sin, but I already know that some of you are going to say that erotic desire is only acceptable within the context of marriage…but then I would ask: Is it sinful to feel erotic desire for someone you are dating? Are erotic fantasies ok? If you are basing your views on the Bible (or other holy books), please reference specific scriptures to back up your views. Do you think it is really important to Christian beliefs that Jesus be a virgin? Would it have been impossible for him to be the son of God if he had gotten married? Why? If sex in marriage is a gift from God, why couldn’t Jesus receive this gift? Is there any reason that Jesus shouldn’t have felt erotic desires for women during his life? I’m not surprised that most answers followed fairly traditional views – more or less equating erotic desire with sin, or as a distraction from our more important spiritual path. I am disappointed that, although the question has been open for several days, no one has yet stepped up to offer a sex-positive alternative. I think that the oppression of women, and devaluation of erotic energy are connected. The traditional view suggests that erotic desire conflicts with spirituality. I think this is the result of males in ancient history (actually starting in prehistory) deciding that they needed to control female sexuality in order to ensure patrilineal decent. You simply can’t have patriarchy unless you make sure that women stay sexually monogamous with their men. (For the purposes of patriarchy, it doesn’t matter if men sleep around.) In other words, there is a conflict between female erotic desire, and patriarchy. The result was a devaluation of everything feminine, and the linking of monogamy to spirituality in such a way that erotic desire in general became a result of our” fall from grace.” The Bible offers contradictory views on the role of women and sex in spirituality, but some passages from Paul clearly show that women are not considered to be equal to men, spiritually. Here is one example: God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must remain in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. (1 Corinthians 14:33-35) Here is another example: In 1 Timothy 2:11-15, Paul wrote that "a woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner." My point is that literal interpretation of the Bible as the sole source of truth is problematic, unless one wants to bite the bullet and uncritically accept that women are spiritually inferior because it was "the woman who was deceived and became a sinner." The real source of our belief that erotic desire conflicts with spirituality is not any actual conflict between the two, but rather, a conflict between patriarchal social structure and female erotic desire. I believe that the most healthy, holistic, and wholesome forms of spirituality are those that incorporate erotic desire into spiritual beliefs without devaluing erotic energy. Sometimes this is referred to as erotic spirituality or sacred sexuality. The key is that our erotic desire is a Divine gift, not a consequence of sin or falling from the grace of God. Forgrat: Your answer demonstrates exactly what I think is wrong with traditional views on the nature of erotic desire. As your answer shows, the notion that celibacy is more spiritual than erotic expression is not the result of any profound insight into truth, but rather, just a sort of manipulation aimed at controlling human behavior. In short, we have been duped by the church. It is an issue of political control, not genuine spiritual insight. Erotic desire IS a form of spiritual energy, and the efforts of political manipulators (going back thousands of years) to divorce erotic desire from spirituality introduce a sort of poison into the process of human self-exploration and growth. Basically, our most intimate and powerful sources of spiritual growth are used to manipulate people into behaving in the way that church authorities (who are essential political figure – not genuine spiritual allies) want us to behave. Temple: You gave a very insightful answer, and it is the sort of thing I was hoping for when I asked the question, namely, the opportunity to consider some connections that I might have otherwise missed. I like the way in which you draw the two realms together via touch in a broad metaphorical sense of the term. I think what you say is true: “Erotic desire is the physical craving to be touched. By man, woman or God.” This is essentially what I’ve been saying for years, and it is gratifying to see that others understand this idea as well. I have chosen to think of divinity in terms of “goddess” rather than “god” specifically for this reason – to remind me in an on-going way that erotic energy is divine energy, and divinity can speak erotically. I would extend the metaphor of touch to self-touch as well. Touch brings tangibility. Touch is foundational to Being. Erotic touch is foundational to Being Whole and Being meaningfully engaged in Existence.
I have a question about the book "The Devil Wears Prada"? A girl I am dating said I remind her of Christian Thompson from the book but I havn't read it or seen the movie. Could someone tell me what exactly the character does in the book, what kind of guy he is etc. Also if you want add a little analysis of whether you think that is a good or bad thing..Thanks!!
Question about the Christian bishop Irenaeus?? Before you read this: 1) Im NOT looking for hate, Im looking for honest, serious answers. This is a serious question im pondering 2) Im not going to tell you my religious affiliation, b/c a) It's not relevant, and b) it will only spark hate. Anyone of any religion can, through reading the Old and New Testaments, can see the drastic differences between them. God takes a completely different form in the New Testament. Now, the Old Testament is pretty solid in terms of accuracy through the practices of their scribes. However, the NT has come under HUGE controversy, especially in the wake of the Dead Sea Scrolls and Nag Hammadi. Also, these books (as well as the Gospel of John oddly) bear a sort of distinct "gnostic" flavor that many have found in Genesis. In the time of Jesus writing in the name of an apostle was considered an act of homage, NOT of forgery. It is also VERY important to note that John's book is dated the earliest, circa 50-60 ce, considerably earlier than the others. Irenaeus (bishop) chose these four Gospels during the same time he was writing "Against Heresies", which included the relentless bashing of gnosticism, due to the fact that it was SO widespread throughout that time. So, my question is: Do you think he ignored the dozens of gospels like Judas, Thomas, etc. with this VERY Gnostic flavor b/c he wanted to convince himself Orthodoxy was the way and b/c he wanted to avoid anything that contradicted his narrow-minded beliefs? What do you think? b/c I don’t see why Orthodox Christianity should have been viewed over Gnosticism. It came EARLIER than orthodoxy, only to be stomped to an underground belief from the relentless bishops of the Roman Empire. P.S. It would take me far to long to explain what “Gnositicism” is other than that its premise is salvation via knowledge/insight (Greek--”gnosis”) and the flawed nature of our world’s creator (i.e. Yahweh) so please go google/yahoo/av it to learn a little about it if you don’t know. I apologize for the overly-drawn out question, I do tend to ramble a lot. @ Jed: It would not be homage---->I'm just pointing out how that custom from long ago, which would now be considered plagarism, could bring about questions of authenticity.
Christian dilemma-the book of Daniel.? Why is it that there is so much controversy as to when it was written? It is of unknown authorship with a date ranging from the sixth to the second century BC. Surely this poses a problem for the notion of "infallible scripture"? If Christians themselves don't even know who wrote their "divine revelation" or even when why should they be taken seriously? It's common knowledge to anyone who has studied Christianity that Liberal Christians, the Catholic church and Conservative Christians have differing views on the authorship. The following site gives a brief overview- http://www.religioustolerance.org/daniel.htm Whitehorse. You're correct, Jesus did trust the scriptures and he believed that Moses wrote the Pentateuch-the first five books of the bible. Modern biblical scholarship reveals that Moses could not have written them so that begs the question how the son of God could be ignorant of holy scripture when presumably it was the literal word of God.
Lutheran girl wants to convert a Jew, what is she really thinking? Hi, I met a Lutheran girl who was physically attracted to me from the start. We went out and appears that she wants to convert me (I am Jewish). She asked me what I thought about God after our second date and gave me some Christian book to read. My question is, what do you think she really thinks about me being Jewish? She says that I should consider everything, including the Koran(sp?) and else. As I said, she was physically attracted to me from the start. She started talking to me and introduced herself to me outside of class, without knowing I was Jewish until I told her when we went on our 'first date'.

Pre-Christian Symbols from Ireland? I know of several symbols such as the triskele or maze or circle are all Pre-Christian symbols, but there has to be more than that. Can anyone point me to a website or book containing illiustrations of Pre-Christian symbols found in Ireland? I want to get a tattoo that really represents my heritage, which I believe pre-dates Christ and I would like to find a symbol that can connect me to Ireland's ancient past.
Christians Have Known About Dinosaurs Since Creation? The Carbon-"Dating" Lie? Any Christian will tell you the religion of Carbon Dating is WRONG. Why? Since if it were correct then Genesis and all of God's Word would be in contradiction. This is impossible since God is real since the Bible say's He is. Therefore, Carbon Dating is false. Evolutionismists say that dinosaurs died out 65 trillion years ago. Yeah right, how stupid is that? I already dissproved that in the Carbon "Dating" discussion. Dinosaurs in the older days were called dragons. All of the dragons were slain in the Dark Ages by knights since they were evil lizards after the great flood. The Bible clearly mentions these dragons over and over again throughout the whole book: Job 30:29 I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls. Psalm 44:19 Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death. Psalm 91:13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Psalm 148:7 Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps Dinosaur is just a new name to fool us into believing the Evolutionismist's lies, changing dragon to dinosaur. So how can they say trillions of years when the Bible says 6,000 years and we find the skeletons of these dragons buried with humans sometimes even! Let me show you what I mean: Oops had a pic can't up load it oh well u just have to take my word for it
Is it true that Obama has told many lies and nobody cares? Want a source? Read his books! Most of it is in there!
If morality only comes from the Judeo-Christian God...? If that is the case as I've heard asserted tonight, and otherwise, that the God of Israel is the one and only source of moral behavior and law; why then is the evidence overwhelming that all the civilizations contemporaneous with and pre-dating to the Israelite civilization contained a moral code? If as you say that "morality comes from Judeo-Christian values" why do we have Hammurabi's Code, The Egyptian Book of the dead, and evidence of moral codes in ancient Persia, Africa in the form of the Neubians, and Mesoamerica dating back as far as 1000 BCE (or B.C. for you that prefer)? Why were all these people able to figure out that one shouldn't rape, steal and murder without the help of the God of Israel, and yet you assert that Atheists have no basis for morality because it can only come from God? Also, were the Israelites wandering the desert with Moses, prior to recieving God's law, under the impression that murder was OK?
Christian / Anti-Christian propaganda? I'd like to hear some propaganda used to make a religious arguement and what makes it misleading. For example: The story about NASA discovering a missing day, and a Christian advisor explains to NASA that the bible claims God stopped the sun for 1 day. Turns out it never happened. NASA never discovered a "lost day", Harold Hill (the Christian advisor) DID advise for NASA...on what diesel generators to buy. This entire NASA story is based on Hill's comments in a book he wrote, and it turns out the "we found a missing day" legend existed years before NASA even existed. Another one: C14 can't date past 50k years (to imply that its not possible to date anything older than 50k years). True...but argon dating can! Funny how that got left out. One for the Christian crowd: Only the bible claims Jesus existed. Nope, he's mentioned in the Gnostic Gospels, and a few historians of the day mentioned "This guy named Jesus gathering a following in Isreal." Any others?
General Georges Sada, an Iraqi Assyrian Christian, who was Saddam Husseins General tells all.? General Sada is President of the Christian Evengelical church, has received many awards in his distinguished life. In his new book: SADDAM'S SECRETS (pages 258 through 260,) he tells where the WMD's were sent and how. On June 4, 2002, a dam broke in Syria killing thouisands. Saddam used this occasion to transport WMD's in enmergency vehicles and avoided all detection by coalition forces. He gives names, dates and places. Now do you believe that the saint , Saddam Hussein, did have them and his them or will some people continue to bury their headds because they hate Bush and Blair so much that they don't want to believe WMD's ever existed?

I don't know why anyone could assume I was trying to foll christians on the first question I have asked here. I did not send the items to the language expert only photographs. I don't know about museums some have very bad reputations. I cannot send the things back as I do not know where they came from, Syria, Jorden, Palestine, Lebanon and Israel are all possible but I believe my great uncle spent most of his war years in Syria and Damadcus was the centre of the Anitquities market then. If I send them to Arab Syria they could end up being dumped or sold

I go to a christian social group with a woman named Lacey,I have wanted to date her since October,? me and Lacey never talked except casual conversation. We‘ve been going to our group since April 2007.However, I doodled on pics of her on face book as a joke and I didn‘t know they would be sent to her friend,I hugged her once casually, and I emailed her sister making fun of her team (my friend told me these things aren‘t a big deal). My youth pastor disciplined me about this.Despite this she wanted to talk to me.So I showed up inexpertly at her house one night (8pmish) to talk to her about my recent actions, and about maybe dating like she wanted to talk to me.I knocked at her door twice, each time she said “come in” I went in,her 2 guy friends were there, she gave me a soda and her guy friend drove me home. They were shocked..I found out her dad is know threatening to press charges if I contact her again.I need to clear this up with her and talk to her about our relationship etc,I know if I can just talk to her everything would be ok,but I also think I should wait til everything is settled. Our youth pastor who disciplined me who with our student pastor Megan, broke the news about lacey’s dad considering pressing charges if I contact her last week. However on Sunday my youth pastor seemed to lighten his stance,he said “I wouldn’t contact her, wait don’t contact her or there will be big trouble for you” why did he slip the first time!! Is there a misconception of "how to become Christian?"? Many people erroneously believe that one becomes a "Christian" by joining a church, or by water baptism, or by giving a testimony before the church. The Bible, the law book of God, clearly teaches that one must be born again (John 3). We know that no person told their parents waht eye/hair color they wanted. We do not choose our gender nor our intelligence. Neither do we choose the date that we are born into this world. So it is with the spiritual birth. Many people on Y/A Religion quote John 1:12 but do not quote verse 13, which states: "Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." We also read in Romans 9:16, "So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy." God has chosen those whom He would save (redeem) before the earth was even created (Ephesians 1). Our works cannot save us! Since faith is a work, your faith cannot save you either (1 Thess 1:3; 2 Thess 1:11)
Christians, I have something to encourage you with. What do you think of this? Today I was in a christian book store and came accrossa book full of muslims coming to faith in Jesus thorugh dreams and visions. There was this muslim who had a real live vision of the rapture a few years ago of Jesus riding on a white horse and of people going up in the air in white garments(the christians) and angles. At the time he did not know what that ment. The vision was explained to him by Jesus, and Jesus showed him where he will be when the raptue takes place and the country. Jesus showed him that he will be in Masuri in theUS, and at the time Jesus told him this man was in the midle east. A few days later he recieved a phone call from his uncle in Missuri US and asked him to move to Missure to help with with business for his shop. Amazing. So he now resides in Missuri. I have been given a rapture vision by the Lord last year and was told by Jesus that I will be alive when it happens and that I will be raptured. Amen. I were given no dates and neither was this ex-muslim man. Christians are you getting ready to meet the Lord? If not your time is running out. He is a christian now not muslim thank goodness.YIPEEEEE
- When I was raised as a small cute Christian boy my fear to God made me to stop doing so many bad things-? ... It helped me to build up my character in a humble way to coup with the society. Now I know that the Books like Bible are man written out dated crap. But I still enjoyed the Christmas and so many Childhood fantasies which are well bonded to the Church. But now I’ve notice so many atheist and religion haters are destroying that lovely kind feeling for our next generation. What we can do to stop that?

My Christian cousin is insane? My cousin is just an eighteen year old, she turns nineteen in four months and is graduating from High School in a few days. She has all A's, did take college classes down at the local college, co-oped, has got a free ride to college next year, received a 29 on the ACT.. and is dating a 25 year old male! They have been dating for 6 months and they both want to settle down! She's only 18 and wants to ruin her life! She doesn't drink, smoke, party, anything of that sort.. she rather just read books -study or just sleep! She's mature for her age I just don't think she's right in the head? What to do? Would you allow your daughter to date a 25 year old? Opinions? They are both very religious Christians as well. Thanks.

Christian women: Sexism in the bible? It's even in the new testament, and there's no "those were different times", who are YOU to have authority to decide what's out-dated in the bible? Also, everything in the bible is of God right? So you must abide by it, otherwise the whole book is questionable. New Testament: 1 Timothy 2:11-12 Let a woman learn in silence with full submission. I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent. Old Tesament 1 Corinthians 11:7 - 9* 7 For a man indeed ought not to cover [his] head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. 8 For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. 9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. 1 Corinthians 14:34 - 35* 34. Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but [they are commanded] to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 1 Timothy 2:9 - 15* 9. In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. Leviticus 12:2 * 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean. Leviticus 12:5 5 But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days. Job 25:4 * 4 How then can man be justified with God or , how can he be clean [that is] born of a woman
Oldest Christian Bible matches todays? The oldest known copy of the Bibles New Testament as well as parts of the Old Testament and the Apocrypha, known as the Codex Sinaiticus and dating from the 4th century (300 A.D. to 399 A.D....that is before Muhommad b.570-d.632), has been deciphered and it matches todays Bible. Considering that Muhommad said that the Bible was valid...and considering that Muslims have believed that the modern Bible is corrupted...what does this mean? Should Muslims begin to study the Bible now? It was released online today so you can check it out for yourself. I did. http://www.cbc.ca/arts/books/story/2008/07/24/online-codex-sinaiticus.html?ref=rss 1qfactor-better read again...it's exactly the same. anyway...how exactly would you know? it was just released today. sometimes it is better to say nothing at all rather than to say anything at all. OK...well, I sread the news. do with it as you will. Im goin to bed. Bye all.
questions for Christians and dating....? Please keep an open mind with these questions: I wonder why it is men who are Christians seem consumed by it, they will beat me over the head with their values. I'm in my mid-20s and a virgin, I want to wait until marriage for sex but can't seem to find a decent guy.... I beleive in God and beleive that all good things in life come through Him -- but I also love movies, books, and music, etc....I can't seem to find a decent men in NYC who isn't either 1. violent or untrustworthy or 2. a religious freak. I don't want someone w/ no morals but I don't someone who is so overly religious that our whole conversations revolve around this. are there any guys out there who are single christians, who are not "extremely" religious? it not possible for me find a male who is like minded like me: I have 2 tattoos, a tongue piercing. Some Christian men hear this and reject it, I am still a good person, trying to remain virgin b/c sex is for marriage, imo. maybe I just don't understand religion... * I enjoy watching horror movies and listening to rock music, etc. is this why I am not attracting Christian men? *I pray for the right man. I know this sounds really bad, frankly, I am tired of waiting, lol.
YOU unbelievers want scientific proof?here it is.? all you unbelievers athiest what ever you claim science disproves GOD? well i got you scientific proof the bible is true. Scientific Foreknowledge in the Bible Scientific Foreknowledge in the Bible Home | Audio | Buy | Contact | Downloads | FAQ | Links | Search | TOC | Videos One question that is often asked of the Bible is, "How do we know it's actually inspired by God"? There are several ways to know it's inspired by God, and not just merely the personal opinions of the 40+ authors who wrote it over about at 1,500 year period. One way is the hundreds of prophecies in the Old and New Testaments that have already come to pass without a single mistake. Another way is the scientific foreknowledge that appears all throughout the Bible. In this case, what we mean by "scientific foreknowledge" is scientific information that was revealed in the Bible long before mankind discovered or verified it through extra-Biblical means. The verses cover a broad range of scientific disciplines. We are gathering this information from several sources, and will add to this list as we have time to. Scientific Foreknowledge Details Books, videos, etc. Links Astronomy and Cosmology Fact Bible verses Date of verse Discovered by science The stars are too great in number to count Genesis 15:5 Jeremiah 33:22 Hebrews 11:12 1450-1410 BC 627-585 BC 64-68 AD 19th Century AD with the advent of powerful telescopes. Prior to this, most thought there were no more than 6,000 stars (what could be seen with the naked eye from all points on the earth). See this CNN report titled Star survey reaches 70 sextillion. The Earth is shaped like a sphere (round) and rotates Isaiah 40:22 Luke 17:34-36 746-680 BC 60 AD See this link for an interesting historical account of where the idea of a flat earth originated from. Also, Luke 17:34-36 depicts Christ's Second Coming as happening while some are asleep at night and others are working at day-time activities in the field, an indication of a rotating earth with day and night at the same time. The sun is is moving through space in a huge orbit Note: There is another interpretation of this verse that suggests its talking about how the Sun appears to rise in the East and sets in the West (from Earth's perspective). It is quite possible that this verse is not referring to the Sun's orbital path at all. Psalms 19:4-6 About 1000 BC It was only recently discovered that the Sun is moving through space at about 600,000 miles per hour, in an orbit that would take an estimated 230,000,000 years to complete. Light travels in a path, darkness does not Job 38:19 950 BC or earlier See excerpt from Bert Thompson, Ph.D in his book Christian Evidences. The universe is expanded from its original size 17 verses spanning seven books of the Bible reference this. The first reference occurs in about 1000 BC; the last in about 518 BC (a span of almost 500 years). Edwin Hubble found evidence the universe has expanded in 1927. The universe is finite in size Bible verses showing the Universe is Finite in size (this link still under construction) Under construction We're still researching this, but it appears from the articles below that scientists are still not sure of whether the universe is finite or infinite. The Bible appears to be very clear on the idea that it's finite. Here's a sampling of the scientific articles we found on this topic: Scientific American: Feature Article:Is Space Finite?: April 1999 Earth floats freely in space Job 26-7 950 BC or earlier We're still trying to track down when scientists discovered this. Medical Fact Bible verses Date of verse Discovered by science Life is in our blood Leviticus 17:11 Leviticus 17:14 1450-1410 BC 1450-1410 BC During George Washington's day, the practice of blood-letting to treat various kinds of illnesses was common. In fact, George Washington died from this very treatment. In 1830 AD, Dr. Marshall Hall came out in strong opposition to this practice. However, had any of the doctors who practiced this treatment read these Bible verses, they would have known that it could have fatal consequences.. Circumcisions should be performed on the eighth day after birth Genesis 17:12 1450-1410 BC According to the Old Testament (Genesis 17:12), circumcision of newborn males was to be performed on the eighth day after birth. Why the eighth day? In 1935 Professor H. dam proposed the name "vitamin K" for the factor in foods which helped prevent hemorrhaging in baby chicks. We now know that vitamin K is responsible for the production of prothrombin by the liver. If vitamin K is deficient, there will be a prothrombin deficiency and hemorrhaging may occur, since both vitamin K and prothrombin are necessary for proper blood clotting. Oddly enough, it is only on the 5th through the 7th days of the newborn male's life that vitamin K begins to be produced (the vitamin is normally produced by bacterial action in the intestinal tract). and it is only on day eight that the percentage of prothrombin climbs above 100% of normal! The only day in the entire life of the newborn that the blood clotting element prothrombin is that high is day eight. The best day for surgical procedure like circumcision is therefore day eight. Meteorology The Jet Stream Ecclesiastes 1:6 935 BC First discovered by airmen during WW II. See more information here. But look here at Intellicast's current graphical representation of the jet stream and you'll see it matches the Bible's description very nicely. Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world. At its peak it's 29,028 feet. Yet the Jet Stream exists from 32,800 and 164,100 feet. Since airplanes didn't' exist in 935 BC, how was the author of Ecclesiastes able to give such an accurate description of the jet stream? Keep in mind that Ecclesiastes was written AFTER all the upheaval of Noah's flood. It is likely that Mount Everest was not as high in 935 BC as it is today, making it even more unlikely that humans could have used mountains to have discovered the jet stream. Consider the link How did Noah and others get by without oxygen tanks? for more information about this. Hydrological cycle Job 36:27-28 Amos 9:6 950 BC or earlier 755 BC This link gives some additional information about this. It also supports many of the statements made on this web page including a comment about the Bible predicting polar ice caps, which is something we didn't address on this page. Miscellaneous Fact Bible verses Date of verse Discovered by science Anthropic Principal New Isaiah 45-18 746-680 BC 20th century Dinosaurs and humans existed at the same time Gen. 1:23-27 Job 40:15-24 1450-1410 BC 950 BC or earlier Modern science is still playing catch-up to the Bible on this issue. The verses in Genesis establish the fact that dinosaurs and man were created on the same day (the 6th day of creation). The verses in Job describe a living creature Job was familiar with. Of all the creatures we know have ever existed, a dinosaur best fits the description of the animal given in Job 40. See our Evidence that Humans and Dinosaurs lived at the same time link for much more information about this. Entropy Psalms.102:25-26 Isaiah 51:6 Hebrews 1:10-11 About 1000 BC 740-680 BC 64-68 AD Rudolf (Julius Emanuel) Clausius formulated the Second Law of Thermodynamics in 1850. All things are made up of sub-atomic particles that are invisible to the naked eye Hebrews 11:3 64-68 AD The first sub-atomic particle to be discovered by modern science was the electron. It was first discovered by J.J. Thomson in 1897. See the story here. Time had a beginning New 1 Timothy 1-8-9 63 AD It's difficult to pin down precisely when modern science concluded that time had a beginning. But based on links like this, it appears to be related to the discovery of Second Law of Thermodynamics and recent observations made in the science of cosmology. Of course modern science wrongly attributes it to being connected with the Big Bang, which of course is a fairy tale. Oceanography Fact Bible verses Date of verse Discovered by science The oceans have circulating currents or 'paths' Psalms 8:8 Isaiah 43:16 About 1000 BC 746-680 BC Late 1800's. Dr. Matthew Maury is considered one of the major founders of the science of oceanography. He was a also a creationist who believed in the absolute authority and accuracy of the Bible. One day while he was sick in bed, he asked his son to read the Bible to him. One of the verses his son read was Psalms 8:8. That particular verse mentioned "paths" in the seas. Believing that the Bible must be correct about these "paths", he set out to find them. As a result, Dr. Maury was the first to discover (in modern times) that the seas were circulating systems with interaction between wind and water. There are springs that arise from the ocean floor Job 38:16 950 BC or earlier The earliest secular references to these springs was by the Roman geographer Strabo, who lived from 63 BC to 21 AD. (1) Mountains and deep valleys exist on the ocean floor Job 38:16 Jonah 2:5-6 950 BC or earlier 840 or 586 BC The Challenger expedition (1873-1876) commenced the first scientific exploration of the ocean floor, during which a canyon 5 1/2 miles deep was discovered in the Pacific.
