Something awful has happened within my family. My brother has stopped going to mass and has started calling himself an atheist. Ever since then he's started listening to weird music, we found this "backstreetboys" cd in his room? We played it backwords and heard messages from Satan.And he's putting product in his hair, and he's having these red growths with white dots on his face. I know he's only 13, but I'm worried he's already on his way to hell. All he talks about is logic and science, and the other day he was even talking about dinosaurs walking around millions of years ago, which is impossible. I think he's in the occult now? When we locked him in his room to confront him about why he thinks there is no God and that the Earth is millions of years old, he started talking about witchcraft, like carbon dating? And relativity? ANd black holes? We fear Satan has taken him, what should we do? He's my baby brother, but I think we need to send him to Jesus Camp? 1 day ago -

Dude... I don't know whether or not to take you seriously. If you are serious, then I feel really bad for you. Maybe you should listen to your brother and not be so closed-minded. If you are joking, then I still feel really bad for you. While I may not agree with many Christian beliefs and try to make them understand that the world does not revolve around them, I do not stoop so low as to make fun of their beliefs like this.

(see answers in genesis movement) carbon dating isnt witchcraft, its just an incorrect way of trying to date things. the theory of relativity is 100% correct. i really hope this is some kind of joke trying to make a point about how christians are cheltered. if not, really, its ok to go out into teh world and investigate things.
Well one thing, dinosaurs did walk the earth. It talks about dinosaurs in the Bible. And The Back Street Boys aren't bad, and I'm sure you didn't hear messages from Satan when you played it backwards. I am a Christian. And since he's only 13 I think he's just going through a phase, he doesn't want to be like his parents and doesn't want to do the things his parents want him to. He might be acting out to get attention... You could get people to pray for him, take him to church and let your pastor pray over him. I'm sure he'll be alright. Don't worry to much.

Consider that your methods are appalling and will not lift the curse of deception from him, but only cause him to never trust anything you say or do. Pray hard, apologize, confess and take up the truth, without wavering. All the rest are between he and God.
If he likes BackStreet Boys, then Satan has taken him. Or is it Satin? Bad taste either way.

... Are you actually being serious? I actually can't tell... Okay, quite possibly your brother is gay if he is listening to backstreet boys (don't want to be stereotypical here, but just a thought) and you seem like a veyr... uptight conservative family, maybe? and i HIGHLY DOUBT the backstreet boys have satanic messages on their cds. i'm gonna bet the "red dots" are acne, i would be suprised if he DIDNT have that. you haven't talked about your brother as a person at all, why would you think he is giong to hell?? has he ever done anything actually wrong? this is the reason i think you're just kidding... you can't pretend to not believe actual sceintific evidence of dinosaurs, carbon dating, etc. its scientific fact. I would ask you to prove your case that the world ISN'T old and there were no dinosaurs, but then you would just say that you have to have faith, and all that. But faith is a personal thing, and this isn't about you or the rest of your family. It's about your brother, and apparently that's not HIS faith, and locking him in his room sure isn't going to change his mind.
He is probabaly better off this way. He has a better chance of coming to know the Lord by escaping from religion. The best thing that you can do is to go into seclusion and read your Word until the Lord reveals Himself to you. Then you will see clearly to help him remove the specks from his eyes. Just be thankful that he is not a mass murderer like the Apostle Paul. Once you know Christ and are a light of Grace to him, his conversion should be routine. Good luck. agapefromnc
I don't understand why him calling himself a Atheist is awful. I have a Backstreet Boys cd and I don't see what the problem is with him having one. He's 13 and growing up making decisions of his own. If you take him to Jesus camp or force him to go to mass. He's just going to run farther away from what you and your family believe. Pushing someone to do something they don't want to do pushes them farther away from what you want them to do. If it was one of my kids I would let go and let God.

well, just an ignorant, programmed, nonthinking, intellectually void christian here. i was going to answer this by pointing out how science supports religion, i knew that wasn't going to go anywhere with you, when confronted with the very tools in your box you ignore them. then i thought "i will say nothing", but as a christian, we are suppose to spread the word, try to help you to see the light, didn't see that that was going to go anywhere either. everything i came up with was going to just give ammunition for more sarcasm, which i can take, but we really don't need more dis respectfulness in the world. then it hit me, i have a question for you. if we are so intellectually inferior, if our beliefs are so antiquated and foolish, why do you spend your time and effort ridiculing us? why is it a concern? i would think it would be an illogical waste of time. you are not trying to talk us out of it, you are angry about it, thus the sarcasm. i think that perhaps your rant is not a logical statement of your opinion, or a funny satire, i think way back in that intellectual brain of yours there is maybe 1 shred of a tiny doubt, and you are trying to convince yourself.....but i am probably wrong.
Your brother is going through a rebellious era that will soon pass, but in the meantime continue being the example. Our walk in Christ is more important than our words. Continue to keep your brother in your prayer, display the fruits of the spirit that is outlined in Galatians 5 and ask God to continue you blessing you with the fruits. Jesus did not come to this earth to make us drink the water, but instead he offered us the water. He said, "...whosoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never thirst again.." John 4: 14 Right now your brother is searching and when he becomes tired of what the world is offering, he will be looking for that drink...
